Youth Level 300: Character Development (Intensive Programme)

Y301: STARFISH

Under the STARFISH Programme, we have designed an integrated programme for at-risk students through working with the students, parents and teachers.

The STARFISH (Student) Programme is designed for students who are not able to manage their anger, lack social and problem solving skills. Our objective is to help them discover their strengths through structured activity and mentoring. Through project work and sports, they will have the opportunity to develop some leadership skills.

To provide a holistic approach, STARFISH (Parent) Programme is designed to facilitate better parent-child understanding and strengthen their bond through structured activities for parent and child. STARFISH Programme Case Discussion is also organised for teachers, our mentors and trainers to come together and feedback on the students’ progress and discuss if any specific areas should be addressed.

Y302: Family Values and Lifeskills Programme

In today’s society, we understand that one of the pressing issues is about building strong and healthy family units at all levels of social status. Positive thinking and life-long values contribute largely to a gracious society that depicts a people of maturity and virtues.

Children and youth are gems of a developed and growing nation. This programme seeks to provide a learning platform for each child to draw a connection between family and self. Each session will be a doorway of opportunities for sharing and discussion; promoting a listening and conducive environment that guides each one to identify and solve problems effectively.

Y303: Academic Mentoring Programme

This weekly structured group work programme is designed for students from low income families with minimal parental support who are weak in English and are struggling to cope with their academic studies. The sessions provide a platform for students to build their confidence through opportunities to express themselves in English and speaking before a small group of students in a conducive environment. Multimedia resources, fun activities, life skill lessons and English oral mock examinations are used to engage the students.
