“Fun and helpful, good reminder to practise good and effective communication with family members. Very well-prepared with the material and craft items. I really had a good time with my son as well. Learn the communication with my child by using positive words. This programme is great as it really help busy parents to spend some time with their children and get to know their kids better.”

I am a Parent
At Cornerstone Community Services, we recognise the enormous task and challenges of raising a child well and it is important for the parents to be equipped with the right skills and knowledge.
Parenting is not easy as every child is different. Take time to learn more on how to better support the physical, emotional, social and intellectual development of your child from their infancy to adulthood life.
“It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.”
We conduct the following programmes for families
Stress Management @ Home
Stress is unavoidable with the multiple roles that each person has to play both at work and at home. With so much on our plates, how can we stay on top of the situation in spite of the stress and pressures that we face?
Through this practical workshop, participants will learn how their bodies and minds react during stressful situations. They will also be taught how stress, in appropriate amounts, aids in one’s improvement and development and as a result, have their negative perceptions of stress changed. More importantly, it teaches them about rational choices that can be made when reacting to a stressful situation and offers them insight into their various life situations.
How to Coach Your Child in Goal Setting & Time Management
A man without vision will perish. Through interactive activities, learn how you can coach your child as they learn to correlate the importance of goal setting and time management to achieving their purposes in life.
Parents will be taught how to use the SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Rewarding and Time-based) guidelines in setting goals. They will also be taught simple techniques to coach their child in managing their time without compromising on their family time. Parents will also get some practical tips on how to coach their child when preparing for exams.
Parent Child Bonding - Family Adventure Walk (Outdoors)
A family that plays together stays together. Through a series of activities at each station, parent and child will discover more about each other and commit to spending more time with each other. This walk also reinforces some important family values like love and acceptance, and provides an opportunity to create positive memories for both the parent and child. Venue is subject to change as it is dependent on the group size and weather conditions.
Parent Child Bonding - Making the Connection Through Craft Workshop
Work as a team to create your own family photo frame and egg person using recycled materials. Through the craft work, parent and child will have the opportunity to learn more about each other and strengthen their bond. Parents will also be given some tips on improving parent-child communication. Participants get to bring back their photo frame with a family photo taken and their created craft works.
