Marriage Preparation Programme -
Prevention and Relationship Education Programme (PREP®)

The Prevention and Relationship Education Programme (PREP®) is a two-day workshop grounded in evidence-based practices, originally developed at the University of Denver in the United States. This programme equips couples with essential communication and conflict-resolution skills, fostering a solid foundation for marriage and enhancing overall relationship satisfaction.

Research conducted abroad indicates that couples consistently report more positive interactions for up to five years post-programme completion. Locally, our preliminary studies indicate that couples who attended PREP demonstrate significant improvements in communication, relationship quality, emotional bonding, and marital adjustment. For instance, newlywed couples have shown a 10% improvement in communication skills scores within a year of attending the programme.

Our PREP workshop utilizes cognitive-behavioural techniques to support couples in managing expectations, practicing supportive listening and effective speaking, resolving conflicts, and maintaining enjoyment, friendship, and intimacy in their relationship. Participants will also receive a $140 rebate upon successful completion of the programme.

What You Will Learn:

Communication and Conflict-Resolution Skills: Acquire essential skills to establish a robust marital foundation.

Cognitive Behavioural Techniques: Learn effective methods for managing expectations and solving problems together.

Maintaining Fun and Friendship: Discover strategies to nurture enjoyment and companionship in your relationship.

Our facilitator’s guidance was invaluable, fostering a safe environment for us to share and provide practical advice that we continue to practise in our daily lives.

The Couples Connect initiative has also allowed us to meet like-minded couples who are going through a similar journey. We're incredibly grateful for the positive impact it had on our relationship, and we hope to journey with like-minded couples as we progress and grow together.”
